About.
Atitlan Oganics is a highly diversified, super low input, permaculture inspired, downright ninja farm.
Over the past 6 years, we have focused on building a fully-functioning, profitable, organic, permaculture farm. Over the past two years, we have begun to offer monthly Intro to Permaculture Courses, as well a Volunteer Program.
Beyond the permaculture farm, there are a number of like-minded people in our neighbourhood that offer complementary skills. Through our centre, we offer Spanish Classes, Yoga and Meditation Classes, Dance, as well as Herbal Medicine/Plant Energetics Workshops.
We believe that farming should be fun and profitable. While we always keep our eye on local markets and bottom lines, our farm foundations lie in diversified edible landscapes, open-pollinated seeds, perennial crops, and traditional breed animals, as well as farm-produced fertility, compost teas, and homeopathic preparations. We produce goat milk, yogurt, and cheers, eggs, vegetables, fruits, chicken, herbs, seeds, and nursery plants. We are located in the Mayan village of Tzununa, on the north shore of Lake Atitlán.
Our goal is to grow nutrient dense food for sale within the local communities, while providing training in organic production and permaculture to local farmers and international students alike.
At Atitlan Organics, you'll experience the cutting edge of ecological food production. From our permaculture design certification courses and introductory workshops to school field trips and local community projects, we believe that education is the key to sustainable change.
