Volunteer
Volunteering (several days to one month): please send us a little bit about yourself, your experience, skills, curiosities, and availability.
You are likely to engage in and learn the following:
Nursery Work – watering, transplanting, pruning, mulching, etc.
Greenhouse Management and Maintenance
Gardening – watering, mulching, transplanting, planting, harvesting, eating 🙂
Animals – feeding, watering, petting, breeding, cleaning, harvesting manures, egg collection, pen improvements, butchering (rare & optional).
Cooking
Carpentry
The following are skill sets we are especially interested in:
Electrical
Irrigation
Computer/Technology
Video Creation/Production
Carpentry
Plumbing
Electrical
Mechanical
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Capable, independent people with a stable core and ability to work under pressure. This is a fast paced environment and everyone here must share cooking, cleaning, and farm activities. This is not glamorous work. Communal homesteading and farming takes a lot of physical and mental endurance. You’ve been warned!
Work days generally run from 8am – 6pm, five days on, two days off.
You must announce your intended days off to the group to ensure there are no egregious scheduling snafus. No one will schedule your days off for you. Please take your days off regularly – we live in a beautiful valley with lots to see and do.
