There is something for everyone in Hobbitenango.

Wide open spaces, games, an ecological market, hobbit-style cottages and a restaurant with a farm-to-table menu. Hobbitenango was created and exists with only one goal in mind: to inspire you to disconnect from the busy world and reconnect with family, friends and the natural world. We hope you come to visit us and leave you excited and refreshed.

Hobbitenango is a dream village, built by two families seeking to create and live meaningful and authentic lives. Perched on top of a mountain just outside of Antigua, Guatemala, the village offers stunning views over the Panchoy Valley and to our nearby Volcano neighbors. The word "Hobbitenango" means "place of the Hobbis". (Hobbis are the distant cousins of the Hobbits on the other side of the world.)

An ongoing project, Hobbitenango is being built by the local community using timeless and innovative ecological techniques. Each of our buildings is constructed using plastic bottles and local materials, while seeking to maintain a beautiful balance with our natural surroundings.

Because of our remote location and desire to live sustainably, Hobbitenango is completely run on Solar and Wind energy and is not connected to any local grid.

We currently have a Restaurant and Bar serving seasonal and regional dishes and world-class cocktails. We are proud to support our innovative local agricultural and brewing partners. You can see our menu HERE.

Our restaurant hours are 8AM-6PM during the week, and 8AM-8PM on the weekends.

You can also visit Hobbtenango to stay in our Eco-Casitas. Each house is built in the style of our Hobbit friends of Middle Earth - with round walls and round doors. You can check availability and learn more about the houses HERE.

If you wish to come and camp, we have some stunning areas just for you as well.

If you would like to come spend the day, you are more than welcome! Apart from the restaurant and hotel, we have gorgeous hiking trails, activities such as archery and machete throwing, as well as live music on the weekends. Families, young and old, are welcome to enjoy the mountain. There is no cost to enter Hobbitenango.
