Located in the Pastaza region of Amazonian Ecuador, Wayra Wasi is a Kichwa-run project which harbors indigenous cultural vitality and promotes cross-cultural ecological education. We wish to shed light on the ethnobotanical importance of the Amazon ecosystem while educating about indigenous knowledge and culture. Accommodation is provided in hand-built traditional wooden cabañas. Visitors have the opportunity to learn about medicinal plant remedies, ceramics tradition, upper-Amazon botany and ecology, pre-dawn Guayusa traditions, Kichwa language, fermenting yuca into chicha, and more.
