About.

Give yourself an invaluable gift: the self-discovery that comes from an intensive period of practice and study. The two parts of this retreat can be attended separately as Two Month Retreats.

You will be guided through a progression of meditative techniques, in a curriculum designed for lasting impact. Emerge with an expanded understanding of the nature of awareness, a multitude of methods for working with mind, body, senses, and emotions, and fresh insight into the richness and possibilities of being.

Getting here.

Our address is: 1815 Highland Place, Berkeley, CA 94709

We have a small private parking lot for use by students and retreatants. GPS will direct you to this parking lot if you search for 2727 Hearst Avenue. Stay on Hearst Avenue until you pass Highland Place, then turn left into the lot.

The closest BART station is Downtown Berkeley, which is a 30 minute walk and partially uphill. If you are visiting for a retreat and have bags with you, we recommend taking a taxi or bus. Please check Google Maps for the buses that stop nearby.

The closest airports are Oakland International and San Francisco International airports, both of which connect directly to BART (at Coliseum and San Francisco International Airport stops, respectively.)

If you are arriving by plane, we encourage you to either arrange a shuttle from the airport (we recommend Bay Porter) or take BART to Downtown Berkeley and a taxi from there to the Nyingma Institute.
