About.
Tribal Village is a regenerative permaculture and spiritual education eco-village. We are an international family working to teach and empower local communities, volunteers, and guests with the knowledge and practices needed to ground the new paradigm on our planet. Through events, celebrations and hard work we are manifesting this vision every day. Together we are changing our world through love.

Program.
Wake up at sunrise for a magnificent view of Lake Atitlan.
For those who are awake, the 6.00 am stunning sunrise across the lake is a perfect way to start your day. Once you’ve seen it once, you’ll probably wake up each day to catch it.
Enjoy a morning dip in the lake. (with clothes please. Our Mayan neighbors are very sensitive to nudity). A cool refreshing dip first thing in the morning is a wonderful way to wake up to the day.
Morning practice.
Welcome the morning with a group yoga or qi gong class. Or your own personal yoga practice. From 6.30 to 8.00, 5 days a week, there will be a collective class with everyone on the lake, with dedicated teachers. This is part of the package you get when you come here at tribal Village !
Communal breakfast.
In the high season, a breakfast is provided, with lots of fruits and porridge. It is served at 9.00. In the week ends, or in low season, you can cook your own breakfast in the community kitchen.
Conscious Workshops.
Around 10 AM, we often have conscious workshops depending who the cocreators staying with us at the time. For instance, Qi Gong, Acro yoga, sacred water, female empowerment, conscious leadership, sacred geometry and Thai massage are some of the recent offerings.
These workshops vary in time lasting from an hour to all day and are a separate price. Look at the Facebook events page to see more examples.
Tribal circle.
Many mornings the tribe gathers for announcements and to communicate the work that needs to be done around the community. The antler goes around the circle to allow each individual to express themselves. People make announcements for workshops and share their feelings. The community appreciation for completed volunteer tasks. The Volunteers sign up for their 3 hours of karma yoga for the day. If a person sees a job to be done, they can post it. Volunteers typically do their karma yoga from 10-1 pm 5 days a week.
Lunch time.
In High Season, 5 days a week, a lunch is prepared with love and joy and is provided in your package. It will be served around 13.00, and we will all eat together in the garden, or in the terrace of the temple. On week ends, or in low season, you can prepare your own food in the community kitchen.
Afternoon Session Bonus.
From Monday to Friday, usually from 16.30 to 18.00, we offer an afternoon Bonus session for all the guests and volunteers. It can be meditation, healing, introductions to workshops, shamanic drumming, dancing, women or men circles, or anything that is related to conscious living. We like to remain flexible and sometimes the timings are different. This is also part of the Reconnection to Self Package.
Tuk-tuk towards San Marcos.
If you want some exercise, can either climb the stairs to catch a tuk-tuk at the top of the hill for a bumpy 10-minute ride into the village. Or you can walk along the lakeshore and catch a tuk-tuk at the bottom of the hill. The tuk-tuk costs 5Q per person(10 Q if alone) and will pick up other riders on its way into San Marcos
Dinner time.
For dinner, you can prepare your own food or cooperate with other people, using the collective kitchen from 18.00 to 21.00. Each person is responsible for washing their own dishes. We ask that after 21.00 the temple gets quiet, that people can relax and rest.
Song Circle.
Musicians play guitar and drums and people can join in singing. Sometimes it’s kirtan and sometimes it’s original pieces depending on the musicians in the village at the time. every Sunday, there will be a Sacred Song Circle where all San Marcos is invited !
Sacred Fire.
After dark, we often build a fire and sing kirtan (devotional music) and other songs at the village around the fire. Sometimes hot cocoa is served. It’s wonderful to warm the feet by the fire, cuddle with your honey and sing together.
