Cosmic Convergence is a portal of entry to step into an emerging contemporary planetary tribal culture, and a platform for the expression of new and ancient ways of being.

An annual gathering incorporating art, music, education for conscious living, and Mayan culture & traditions. It is a convergence of past, present, and future, envisioning the new paradigm of a technological-tribal society that is becoming more tangible each day. The objective is to expose the attendees to ancestral and post-industrial ways of living in order to provoke a shift in consciousness to rethink what lifestyles are possible today. The gathering forms part of an ongoing international tribal revival. The event is 100% non-profit and all proceeds go towards supporting social projects on Lake Atitlan, where we work with indigenous communities to grow a greener future.

2017 is the year of tribal technology. The pace of technological advances are accelerating, and transforming almost every aspect of human life. In the next decade, the definition of normal will be reshaped by virtual reality, artificial intelligence, blockchain networks, 3-D printing, and the internet of things. The seductive temptation to immerse ourselves in technology-induced realities will grow, and the very definition of “what is real” will be open for debate.

During these times, it is important to stay grounded and connected with the foundations of what makes us human - connection to nature, to community, to tribe, to self, to mind and body. We believe that certain technologies enhance these connections, and empower humans to live free and sovereign lives. We believe in technology that individuals and communities can operate and control, in order to meet their own needs. Technology that brings us together and allows us to freely share information and resources with each other. Technology that can coexist in harmony with nature and even enhance ecosystems. Our ancestors understood the programming language of nature, and used it to build metropolises, vast infrastructure projects, and massive agricultural systems, accomplishing feats that still defy explanation by modern science. There are many ancient technologies from our indigenous ancestors that we believe are more relevant than ever today, if we are to find a balance between nature, self, and technology in this ever-changing world.

The 21st century is bringing a wave of decentralizing technology that will allow individuals and communities to generate our own food, water, energy, and building materials. By riding this wave, humanity can be free if we work together for collective abundance, rather than fight each other for control and domination.

How can we balance the past, present, and future? Which technologies can be harnessed to create the ecotopian villages of tomorrow and power a tribal future? We think these questions are of utmost importance to humanity, and our intention is to explore them during this year’s edition of Cosmic Convergence: Tribal Technology.

Getting here.

We recommend taking a shuttle at any of the tour companies that will take you to the island of Flores, Guatemala (approx . 6 hours). On the island of Flores Pullman take a night bus to Guatemala City . And in the city take another bus to Lake Atitlan . Being on the lake Atilan ; take a boat to Santiago Atitlan .

Palenque is very close to San Cristobal de Las Casas and San Cristobal Festival . So we suggest more traveling to San Cristobal de Palenque and then to Lake Atitlan . Instead of traveling from Palenque to the island of Flores (Guatemala) .

  1. From Cancun to Palenque , approx. 12-13 hours .

  2. Palenque to Flores ( Guatemala ), approx. 6-7 hours.

  3. Flores Island to Guatemala City , approx. 8-9 hours.

  4. Guatemala City to Lake Atitlan , approx. 3 hours.

  5. Palenque to San Cristobal de las Casas, approx. 6-7 hours.

  6. San Cristobal de las Casas to Lake Atitlan (Panajachel), approx. 7-8 hours.
