About.

Metamorphosis Gathering weaves supportive relationships into our lives by focusing first on connection with our authentic selves, in order to collaborate with existing communities that inspire and guide us in morphing our dreams into reality.

Intertwining permaculture principles and practices with facilitated processes for transformation, our mentors and instructors will share strategies and teach life skills towards creating a more regenerative, natural way of life.

This event welcomes and honors inspiring facilitators from all walks of life that have many years of practice in their respective fields. There will be five core people, each holding space to share their wisdom with us on Mind, Body, Spirit, Emotion and Vibration. Each one holding its place in the harmony of the whole as we each do our part in humanity's collective transformation.

Our host farm, Finca Morpho, is located in the second most bio-diverse place on the planet. On the OSA Peninsula of Costa Rica we are immersed in the primal energies of the rain forest and surrounded by the fluidity of the ocean to observe, relate and learn from.

Metamorphosis is a substance free event, this is important for maintaining a coherent field to connect and relate to each other and to the spaces being held by our core people.

Experience

Context for Metamorphosis Gathering:

Our course curriculum references the life cycle of a butterfly, with nature providing the blueprint to assist in this transformation. The natural world exists as interlaced, fractal patterns which we will observe and learn from through living within it. By applying these frameworks to all parts of our lives we are able to integrate the grand complexity of nature, the universe, and this life.

Days 1-4: On The Ground

Upon arrival, you'll simply land and acculturate to the environment, set up personal spaces and get to know the community through our opening ceremony. Day Two is the egg stage with workshops and activities that set the conditions to hatch as we summon the strength it takes to break out.  Then as caterpillars, we'll crawl through Day 3 consuming information, practicing skills, and developing habits to survive the environmental obstacles.  On the fourth day we go inward for better understanding and patience by working through the Chrysalis/Pupa stage.

Days 5 and 6: Spread Your Wings and Fly

Coming out of our cocoons on Day Five as a butterfly, we still require time for adjusting to our new form and comforting the transition of creating. By Day Six we are ready to fly and it's time to take wing, show the world what we have accumulated and find our 'flutter' by connecting to the established networks that correspond to our uniqueness. The final day of the event we are collecting our personal things, connecting with community, and celebrating together in a closing ceremony.

Art and Music Throughout

Every night we will have acoustic music, inviting everyone to join in the harmony of sounds around a sacred fire which burns through the whole event. The final night we embrace our new friends, exchange contact information and gifts, then flutter and flow together with the sacred visuals and sweet sounds of Yaima.

Getting here.

We will be offering a shuttle from San Jose leaving on the 10th at 6 am. Please coordinate with us if you would like to be on this bus. We will also have a shuttle leaving on the 16th at 1 pm going to San Jose but making stops along the coast line for alternative routes and plans.

Directions from San Jose International Airport -

  1. As you exit the airport there are buses that are the main street that go by. If you take the bus number 23 and get off next to the children's hospital you can then walk to the Blanco Lobo Station. but if you don't feel comfortable it is a 20$ taxi ride to the Blanco Lobo Station There are 2 buses that leave from the Blanco Lobo Station at the intersection of Calle 12 and Avenidas 7/9 in the Coca Cola District of San Jose. The first one leaves at 8am and the second leaves at 12pm and are around $15 dollars to Puerto Jimenez. We highly recommend using the bus system, which is a 8 hour trip that allows you to see a lot of the country. The bus will bring you to Puerto Jimenez and from here you can catch a taxi to the farm. Our address is 14km Sur de Bomba de Osa en la calla de Matapalo con puerton murado.
  2. There are 2 small engine airlines that also take daily trips to Puerto Jimenez. Sansa and Nature Air are at the airport and from San Jose to Puerto Jimenez it is an hour long flight.
  3. Driving Directions - When you are in Puerto Jimenez you follow you the only paved road till it ends and turn right at an intersection that has the Gas Station(Bomba de Osa) and a BM grocery store. From here we are 14km south on this road with a purple gate on your left and a sign that says Finca Morpho. Make sure to check your Odometer.
  1. If you arrive and are unable to catch one of the two buses or a airplane, then there is a cheap hostel called Hotel Cala ( 506-2441-3219) very close to airport, where you can stay for the night and arrange for a taxi early in the morning before traffic hits.
