About.

Costa Rica, a bridge between North and South America has diverse micro-climates where we can find temperate familiars and exotic rainforest healers. Explore the range of ethnobotanically significant plants from indigenous, Afro-Caribbean and Costa Rican traditions used by healers from around the world.

Teachers are from Costa Rica and abroad comprising of folk herbalists, ethnobotanical intellectuals, clinical herbalists, granny healers, kitchen witches, biologists, curanderos, botanists, permaculturists, conservationists
and environmental activists.

The Edge is where we find the most diversity, the most abundance. On the EDGE is where the species from two different ecosystems meet, where unique species live and where life develops. Whether it is along a waterfront, where the meadow meets the forest or where the continents meet, here is where we find the most life!

Costa Rica located between North and South America, between two oceans, with numerous microclimates, this rich land is home to hundreds of tropical and temperate
medicinal plants, trees, fruits and fungi!

Abundant wildlife, inspiring landscape and diverse population all helped develop the country’s most beloved phrase… Pura Vida… Pure LIFE!

Program.

We continue to work hard this year to bring together regional plant people and members of indigenous communities in Costa Rica to make this event a true convergence of plant knowledge to be shared and exchanged at this unique conference. This page will be updated as new information becomes available.
