ARC 38 is a 501c3 not-for-profit situated on 150+ acres of protected wetland, agricultural property and forested hills teeming with biodiversity. Located in the beautiful Harlem Valley in Amenia, New York, we’re 2 hours from NYC @ last stop of the Metro North Harlem Line train. Only 8 miles from the Appalachian Trail, we have attracted diverse groups to experience our vision.
With its roots grounded in activism, sustainability, permaculture, and building networks, ARC 38 strives to embody a living experiment in community building. Our project upholds principles from many societal models developed throughout history to transition toward new ways of living. We aim to become a demonstration site, providing a support system to empower people to practice & share mutual aid, and develop a template of solutions to help other communities caretake twheir lands all over the globe.
