Ängsbacka is located amidst the beautiful forests & lakes of Värmland, in Sweden, halfway between Stockholm and Oslo.
We are one of the most important course & festival centres in Scandinavia, and we host various courses throughout the year as well as big festivals at New Year, Easter & during the summer, on topics such as yoga, tantra, shamanism, self-actualization & self-realization, coaching,…
Our vision is to become a sacred focal point bringing people to the realization of whom and what we really are beyond all thoughts and concepts, and an internationally renowned source of inspiration, exploring how human beings together consciously can create the life they desire on earth, and demonstrating paths to sustainable development, well-being, and harmony.
We focus on practices encouraging authentic & openhearted communication, self-awareness & personal growth, self-enquiry, presence, creativity, connection, celebration & togetherness, respect for all life on earth, and we are guided by 12 guidelines that embody the values important to us.
We are part of the Global Ecovillages Newtwork (GEN) and strive towards implementing social, cultural, environmental, & economic sustainability.
Ängsbacka is run by a staff of 20 members and between 20 - 40 volunteers who live here all year-round. In busy summer, that number may increase to 200!

As a volunteer here you have the opportunity to serve your own personal development, but also the development of the many hundreds of participants who join our courses and festivals throughout the year. Service to the participants means giving the gift of providing a warm, safe, clean and nourishing environment through our work as kitchen and housekeeping volunteers.
In so doing, you will be given the chance to develop personal, interpersonal and practical skills that support a more sustainable way of living. You will also experience life in a spiritual, international community, with an exciting program of daily activities: yoga, meditation, dance, art & creative workshops, spiritual workshops, movie nights, women/men circles, open stages, etc.
