La Città della Luce

We are an Ecovillage, an intentional community based on environmental and relational sustainability.

Anyone deciding to join La Città della Luce adopts a lifestyle based on simplicity, that is a "high-living simplicity". We try to reduce any waste at most, we use renewable resources and we aim at nutrition self-sufficiency.

We are a permanent research workshop that, day after day, works to build a new model of society, as an answer to a system based on competition and massive exploitation of human and natural resources: we offer new, ecological, economical and social paradigms created by retrieving tradition and using technological innovations, by thinking globally and acting locally.

La Città della Luce is now made of around 25 components, from 2 to 80 tears old; there are people waiting to take part in the project, and their number could increase in the next years, as the organization will gradually become more efficient.

In order to reach the self-sufficiency, La Città della Luce is developing a wide range of sustainable practices, using different techniques, such as:

- the farming of 3 hectares of land, following synergistic and biodynamic agriculture principles
- the employment of local, ancient wheat
- the wild fruit and the berries that we pick around the house and use to prepare jams
- the medical herbs that we use to prepare natural cosmetic products and herbal teas
- the 400 olive trees that provides us with the organic oil that we store and use for cooking and cosmetic preparation.
- 12 apiaries that produce a healty honey, rich in authentic nutritional principles.
