About.
Currently offering weekly/monthly stays in our spacious community house, Casa Refugia. Located by a seasonal river with waterfalls above, nestled in a tranquil, private canyon surrounded by mountains on 3 lush food-forested + upper hillside hectares and many trails for hiking — we have future dreams to build a small, intentional eco-community here. Until then, we are offering retreat space to a flow of buena gente, while seeking our core group to begin.
The trail from the lake shore dock is safe, moderately easy (no steep inclines or difficult footing) — a 15+/- minute walk from the dock through the forest, with help available if needed to guide and bring your things here.
Practically no noise/light or other pollution in this area; mosquitos are close to nonexistent. Lovely, temperate climate in this land of “eternal spring”. Clean mountain spring water, and an eco filter purifies for drinking and cooking water needs.

We are living mindfully on a limited solar setup: large refrigerator/freezer (shut down at night to conserve batteries), more limited use in rainy season. Well-equipped large kitchen includes Magic Bullet set (blender, grinder etc) in kitchen, 6 burner stove + oven, french presses and teapots for coffee, tea etc.
House comes equipped with sheets, towels, bedding, books, cds, dvds and more..
Shared large bathroom has solar/or/gas-heated shower, sink, flush toilet, with a pila sink for clothes washing just outside.
Wood-fired temezcal sauna

Cleaning supplies are gentle (vinegar, citrus, other eco products, etc) and no poisons are used on the property, except occasional diatomaceous earth application, or other natural pest solutions and deterrents.
There are two friendly cats who live at the guardian casita, and roam the entire property for rodent control.
In order to reduce/reuse/recycle we compost, sort recyclables, fill eco-ladrillos (plastic bottles stuffed with small inorganic trash that can be used for building projects), burn toilet paper, and so on. The goal is (someday) zero-waste, and there are shopping bags, used plastic bags and other containers available to help in reducing single-use plastic waste.
Gas, occasional cleaning services (to supplement your own efforts) and basic 512k WIFI supplied.

Casa Refugia is also occasionally available for private lease. It is generously-sized and beautifully-designed to allow for both privacy and group activities. 2 private bedrooms (large queen and medium double), 1 bath, well-equipped large kitchen, huge open dining/living room with fireplace. Meditation loft, 2 upper and lower patios, and numerous flexible sleep spaces. We welcome co-creator ideas for hosted gatherings, workshops, group retreats, etc.

We seek kind, nature-loving people to enjoy privacy as well as camaraderie while living in this lovely space. Calling: peaceful warriors, gardeners, putterers, fixers, givers, tree planters, botanists, writers, healers, lightworkers, builders, mycologists, gardeners, artists/artisans, writers, poets, musicians, community builders/strategists, activists, animal tenders, altruists...and other visionary souls with strong desire to be of service to humanity + sacred Mother Earth in our time of shift.
If you seek connection with nature and community, then we are seeking you 💚.
