About.

Fungi Academy is an international team of biologists, visionaries and “sporriors” whose mission is to catalyze the growing global awareness of the power of mushrooms through the cultivation of a human mycelial network.

We hold weekly workshops, as well as longer immersive courses. Come learn to grow your own mushrooms with us; be it for food, ecological restoration, enhancing permaculture design, or consciousness exploration.

We are accepting new volunteers on a case-by-case basis. If you are interested in sharing your skills & experiencing community living, feel free to send us an email.

Our current homebase is in San Marcos de Laguna, Lake Atitlan, but we are building a network of mycoprojects all over the world and welcome connections. Our past, present, and future family is encouraged to continue spreading the knowledge they gain with us to wherever they may journey.

We exist on the principles of non-violence (ahimsa) and fairness. You are welcome to visit us for a day or join our camp for as long as you like. We ask for a contribution of either 30 quetzal per day or 2 hours of work per day for 5 days a week. Food and communal supplies are shared, and we raise funds by passing a hat. Bring ingredients, bring books, bring your instruments. Come break bread and sing around the campfire with us.

May there always be enough magic and may the world know the magic of mushrooms!
