About.
We are native to Iberia, raised in North Africa and North America. This story begins in NYC in the early years of the '70s; my student years. It was during these years that the "The Limits of Growth" by MIT, sponsored by UNESCO 'The Club of Rome' was published. This was the worlds first report on the conditions of the planet and took them seriously. That is when i found Costa Rica and realized its favorable conditions for this historic crossroads.
Since we do not have the necessary resources, had to depend on my salary as a naturalist guide, with which we deared to start our dream of forming a friendly life style with nature. From this initiative the project of the Village School in Sustainable and Regenerative Practices "El Paso de la Danta" (The Path of the Tapir) was born.
The main diciplines are: Vernacular construction, biological horticulture and the science of the soil, holistic health, ecology, traditional vocational crafts, natural economics and animal husbandry.
We offer a large building, 600 sq mt in three levels with 5 bedrooms and their respective bathrooms, dinning room with a view of the forest and the sea, large living room with a fireplace and the kitchen in the first two levels. The third livel is a geodesic dome for multiple uses.
The farm is 12 ha. It has its own water springs and it is located on top of the Coastal Range, adjacent to the Biologial Corridor with the same name, in the South Pacific of Costa Rica, at 1000 mt above the sea and 14 km from the National Park Marino Ballena and its beaches. Surrounded by tropical forests and cascading rivers where to swim.
Our activities are: bio-construction, permaculture, yoga, nutrition and holistic health practices. We are off the grid (solar) organic garden, reforestation, biology and ecology, natural economics, waste management and arts & crafts.
We have been offering our grounds for over 15 years. Our proyection is mostly for local youths, although we are looking forward to work internationally.
