About.
ALYA means 'ascension' / 'to rise'.
At Alya our mission is to raise our vibration, open our hearts and live as sovereign beings in harmony with our Mother Earth and natural cycles, in order to support the healing of the Earth and awakening of humanity. Alya is a safe space for authentic relating, self-expression, creativity, healing and transformation.
Alya began as a retreat center and eco-lodge in 2009. We are now building the foundations for a sustainable future, learning more about ourselves and the land every day, seeking like-minded tribe members to support us on this journey and be part of something truly unique from early stages. There is scope and potential for the right people to make a real impact.
We have a range of accommodation options to suit all budgets. Our standard work exchange commitment is 25 hours per week and includes food.
**UPDATE: We are looking for 1-2 people to teach yoga and help with cleaning and general maintenance at our community**
Welcome to the community, a sanctuary deep in the jungle of San Juanillo that has been built around the beautiful and untouched nature of this land with 11 casitas to rent, a yoga shala, a plant-based cafe, natural pool (can be used depending on the season) and a variety of fruit trees and plants around us.
This is our jungle paradise, appreciate the magic of simple living, waking up in a vibrant jungle each morning to the calls of howler monkeys and bird songs. Please make sure to READ OUR PROFILE FULLY and describe which projects and tasks would be the most suitable for you. Thank you!

Currently, most of our time and energy here is directed towards co-creating and developing the expansion of the community. We love to live quietly and in tune with nature here and would like to share this experience with you. We encourage you to utilize the space here as your classroom. With opportunity to lead workshops, classes and any other events to share with fellow volunteers, guests and community.
